The attraction between Tang Xu and Yan Shiyu is subtle so far. In the dark room, the cigarette lighting is intimate. In the bathroom, his naked torso. There's a charged silence. I hope it develops.
The other kid in the simulation, the one who followed Su Ninglong around and then tried to "help" by throwing a plate? He's adorable but also painfully useless. His heart's in the right place but his execution is laughable. Tripping over his own feet? Classic. But he's not just comic relief – his presence actually serves a purpose. He forces Su Ninglong to show a hint of responsibility, even if she's grumpy about it. The way she tells him to "get out of here" and he misunderstands it as "run away" is both funny and frustrating. It's realistic for kids his age.
Huo Chongxiao's portrayal here is a nice contrast to how he is in the present timeline. He's described as being so obsessed with demon hunting later that he ignores everything else, but here he's a genuinely good guy who's willing to help a random girl he meets. The fact that he easily accepts Bai Mengjin's story about having a conflict with her brother shows he's not suspicious by nature. It makes you wonder what exactly happened to him to make him change so much.
