The shelter management options are interesting but feel a bit overwhelming. There are so many things to build: rest area, security, bathroom, ventilation. It’s a lot to take in. But I like that the materials are specific, like “lighter, yoga mat, old cloth” for a ground mat. It makes crafting feel grounded, not abstract.
2 The description of the rain and the autumn wind is atmospheric. It makes the setting feel alive. The “sewer bomb” from stepping on a loose brick is such a specific, real-world annoyance. It contrasts with the epic battles of the other world, highlighting how mundane Earth can be.
I appreciate the small village dynamics shown here. Aunt Wang's relief isn't just kindness; it's also because she doesn't want her husband to adopt Xiao Yan. That's a very human, slightly selfish motivation that makes the side characters feel more real and less like simple helpers.
I loved how the guild receptionist slowly goes from confused to impressed. She starts by saying “you’re a strange person” and later calls him “a person who can do nothing.” It’s not mean, just observational. Her dry professionalism combined with Tadano’s antics makes their interactions a highlight.
