The system mechanics are engaging enough to keep me interested. The idea that the supermarket only accepts gold, not cash or cards, is a clever limitation that forces Jiang Fei to make sacrifices. And the way the white mist clears as she unlocks more zones is very visual and satisfying. But the upgrade requirements are going to be brutal. First area: 1000g. Second: 2000g. To unlock all four zones on the first floor... she's going to need a fortune. I'm curious to see if she finds a way to stockpile gold during the apocalypse, maybe from banks or jewelry stores once society collapses.
Mora the maid is already my favorite side character. The way she gossips with her colleagues about Bal and Phia's "relationship" after seeing them cuddle is so wholesome. That auntie smile that's harder to suppress than an AK - perfect description
The snake scene had me laughing despite the tension. Here's this tiny tiger cub waking up in a snake nest, and her immediate reaction to a giant python is to slap its tongue and then faint. And then later she wakes up again, sees the big snake, and faints a second time. That's such a mood. I'd probably react the same way if I woke up surrounded by giant snakes. The little snakes all being scared of her because she "hits snakes" is hilarious.
The system appearing at the exact moment of danger felt a bit convenient, but the twist that you can only modify one word in the plot is clever. It’s not overpowered at the start, which I appreciate. The whole "continued chopping firewood" changed to "mother" was darkly hilarious – seeing Song Hemao accidentally slash his own mom was unexpected and satisfying.
30. Overall, I'm really enjoying this so far. It's a solid survival story with a strong, smart protagonist and some genuinely satisfying revenge moments against toxic family members. The system isn't too overbearing, the survival logic makes sense, and the pacing is good. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes post-apocalyptic stories with a focus on preparation and strategy. Can't wait to see how she uses that shelter.
