2 One thing I'm confused about is why the cat's owner hasn't shown up at all in the text yet, like we hear about him being sad and recently dumped but he's just a background figure, I hope he becomes relevant later because otherwise that's a dangling thread.
I gotta say, the global livestream and think tanks concept is genius. It turns a simple survival story into this huge geopolitical thing. I love cutting to the Dragon Nation experts freaking out or the undercover agents from other countries rushing to report back. It makes the world feel alive and interconnected, like the whole planet is holding its breath watching these poor saps die one by one.
I'm noticing the author really likes the whole "mysterious powerful stranger in a small village" setup. Qin Yun returns home with all these abilities and immediately starts shaking things up. Chen Yanhong gets slapped, Su Lina gets healed, and the mom gets her vision back – all within like two chapters. It's cathartic but also makes me wonder when the real challenges start.
The writing style is simple but effective. The dialogue flows naturally and the short paragraphs make it an easy read. The translator kept the light novel feel without making it sound stiff. I can picture the dim castle and the morning sunlight.
The conversation between Song Chu and Gu Yue about the split lab was one of my favorite parts. She's straightforward telling him it's originally hers, and he's cautious but curious. The moment where she uses her psychic power to enter his half was intense, like she's stepping into his soul. And then he turns out he can see her library too. They form a temporary alliance that feels believable because both are logical.
