I’m a bit skeptical about the “safe house in the forest” setup. The God says it’s a low-difficulty area, but he also said Hinami would die if he didn’t boost her stats. That makes me think the world is actually quite dangerous. The house and garden being a safe zone is good, but what about when she needs to go to town for supplies or quests? The town is within walking distance but “a bit far.” That’s vague. I hope the story doesn’t hinge too much on her staying inside the safe zone because then the tension would disappear. She’ll need to interact with the world and its inhabitants. The beastkin and spirits sound interesting — I want to see how Hinami deals with non-human societies.
2 The author does a decent job making the English translation feel less stiff than some other web novels. There are a few awkward phrases like "make some joyous sounds" for cheating, but overall the voice comes through. I especially like how Qin Bai's internal monologue has a sarcastic edge that translates well across languages.
The fight scene with the kids in the village was unexpectedly fun. She's a Taekwondo black belt, she's a doctor who knows where to hit, and she's not taking anyone's crap. That moment when she picks up a clod of earth and throws it at the ringleader—it's so raw and petty, but also empowering. I was grinning when Qin You Shi shows up and just says "well done" instead of scolding her. That's the kind of support she needs, and it makes their bond stronger.
