One thing I really want to know: Why is Hinami’s luck stat so high? 30 before the reset, 50 after. That’s the highest number in her stats. The God didn’t comment on it much. Is it because she was lucky enough to meet God? Or is it that she will be lucky in the other world to balance her weak combat ability? Maybe luck will play a role in her survival — she accidentally finds treasures, avoids dangers, or meets helpful people. That could be a fun mechanic if used well. But if luck just means she gets by without effort, it might ruin tension. I hope the author defines how luck works in the system. Is it a hidden modifier? Does it affect drop rates or encounter rates? It’s a cool piece of the puzzle. I’m watching for that.
Concubine Song is clearly the antagonist here, but I have to respect her competence. Running the inner house smoothly for seven years, earning the title "Little Madam" out of genuine fear and respect from the staff. She isn't a stupid antagonist who will fall for simple traps. She is sharp, calculating, and has a legitimate grievance if she truly believes Wen Mingqian killed her son. A worthy opponent makes the revenge arc so much better.
One small criticism: the transition from “he’s scared” to “he’s going to a buffet” felt a bit abrupt. After running away from the hospital because of the nurses’ gossip, he’s immediately thinking about food. I would have liked a moment of him sitting in his apartment, looking around at his poor life, maybe a moment of loneliness. The emotional beat of the near-death experience gets a bit lost in the comedy. A little more downtime would make the comedy land harder.
1 Shi Tou is becoming my favorite side character. That kid's persistent optimism in the face of absolute poverty is both inspiring and slightly concerning. "Let's adventure together!" while eating roasted sweet potatoes in a collapsing temple - he's either delusional or exactly what this group needs emotionally. I hope he doesn't get killed off for drama because that would break my heart. These kids protecting each other is the emotional core keeping me invested.
The patriarchal attitude is strong in Gu Yuncheng. He treats her as a spoiled miss who doesn’t understand “real” hardship, completely dismissing her legitimate concerns. It’s so typical for the era and makes him perfectly hateable. I bet he’s in for a rude awakening.
