A group of hired killers sent by Shen Lian's stepmother to murder him on his way to the capital for the imperial examination. In the past life, Shen Lian barely survived their attack, and was later rescued by the Lin couple. These assassins are only referenced in the backstory as instruments of the stepmother's malice.
