Caidie is a palace maid of the Empress for ten years, but is actually a man disguised as a woman. He develops an obsessive love for the Empress and plans to drug her to make her dependent on him. He is discovered through the system, confesses, and is executed with poison. His betrayal causes great pain to the Empress.
