Chen Yanyan is Lin Youzhi's assistant secretary, about 26–27 years old. She is tall and attractive, with long legs and a professional demeanor. After her boss dies, she follows Lin Feng and initially tries to seduce him to ensure her survival, but he rebuffs her. She comes from a poor rural background in the Northwest, where she used to catch and sell insects with her father, making her unafraid of the alien bugs. She proves to be pragmatic and moderately capable, helping carry supplies and later showing courage by handling the beetle corpse. She also tries to hide her past relationship with Lin Youzhi from Zhang Yurou. She is a survivor who adapts to the situation and cooperates with the group out of necessity.
