Cheng Yan is one of Lin Qingchuan’s closest friends, the younger twin brother of Cheng Shu. He is loud, energetic, and openly protective of Lin Qingchuan, often suspecting Yu Jingmo of being a cruel stepmother. He appears at the basketball court and later via video call, where his exaggerated concern leads to a humorous interaction with Yu Jingmo. Cheng Yan has a playful personality and does not hesitate to voice his thoughts, though he can be easily subdued by authority. He is loyal and cares deeply for his friend, even threatening to scare Yu Jingmo. Despite his impulsive nature, he shows vulnerability when scolded and quickly backs down when faced with Yu Jingmo’s calm assertiveness.
