consort yi
Consort Yi is the Emperor's favorite concubine and the mother of Prince Ying. She originally proposed the marriage engagement to the Emperor, claiming the Jiang family's military achievements merited a princess consort title for their only daughter, while the Imperial Family could conveniently recover military power. Jiong Ruohua later reflects that Consort Yi had her own agenda, proposing the match to benefit her son Prince Ying. She acted while the Duke and Jiang Ruohua's father were away. She is cunning and took advantage of the Emperor's suspicion to strengthen Prince Ying's position. She is mentioned only, without direct appearance.
