Emperor Jingchang is the reigning emperor. He hears the report about the Yan Gou Gang remnants and the matter of Chu You’s survival. To appear benevolent, he pardons Chu Jingshan, awards him silver, and officially decrees that Chu You may return to the family. He is a distant authority figure who influences the story’s political events.
