Emperor Yuanhe is the thirty‑year‑old ruler of Great Jin. He decrees the marriage between Su Muqing and Prince Gong as a means to weaken both the Yuanning family and his paralyzed brother. He arranges a substitute groom and orders soldiers to catch the Princess Consort in adultery, intending to use the scandal to punish Prince Gong. He confronts the Yuanning Marquis angrily over the bride substitution but later accepts his sister’s advice to handle the matter cautiously.
