Gao Zhi is the village head of Ximen Village. He is antagonistic towards Dongmen Village, insisting on maintaining the water crisis. He opposes well-digging and prefers to fetch water from far away, causing tension. He is seen as troublemaker and is often at odds with the other village heads.
