Helian Meiwen is Niuniu’s mother, a gentle and virtuous woman who suffers from terminal pancreatic cancer. She is described as thin, pale, and emaciated, but in death she appears peaceful. Before passing away, she arranges for Niuniu to be cared for by her younger brother Helian Yao Kai, even putting on her burial clothes beforehand. Her body is brought home by her eldest brother Helian Yaoxun. She is remembered as having been a spirited, pampered young lady, and her loss deeply grieves the entire family.
