Huai En is an elderly farmer who posts a quest to clear twenty mu of farmland. He is initially skeptical of Pang Hong's abilities but later becomes grateful. He is hardworking, always going to the fields with his son. He negotiates terms with Pang Hong: clearing ten mu within twenty days for 20 silver coins, providing tools and lunch. He is cautious and somewhat cunning but ultimately fair.
