Imperial Physician Hu is a court doctor who attends to the Empress Dowager after her illness. He diagnoses her with a cold and circulation problems, attributing her memory issues to the illness. He is a professional but somewhat conservative physician who follows protocol. He does not fully understand the Empress Dowager's strange behaviour.
