Ji Xiaofu is a former disciple of Abbess Miejue. The bamboo courtyard given to Gu Shaoan was originally her residence. Her death (or departure) deeply affected Abbess Miejue, and she is remembered as a tragic figure. She is mentioned in passing as "that person" who died, and her loss caused Miejue to be cautious about accepting male disciples.
