Lieutenant Commander Jowain Date is the captain of the battleship Mirandora and the main protagonist. Originally a sycophantic officer who blindly follows Colonel Anferu, he is possessed by the consciousness of Shogo Hamagishi, a Japanese office worker. This fusion leads him to reject the order to massacre civilians and attempt a rebellion. He has Western facial features, an ill‑suited blonde mustache, and a pompadour hairstyle. He is determined to survive and bring New Balance to justice.
