The male protagonist of the story. Li Yu awakened a Psionic Ability in the form of a cyclone in his abdomen after suffering hunger and cold. He was the temporary captain of a small scavenger squad, but due to extreme weakness, he failed to activate his ability initially. After collapsing from hunger and illness, he was cared for by Fu Xiyao, who fed him her last food. This helped him recover enough to use his power. His ability grants him a 100% accuracy with his Wooden Bow, after a five-second aiming time. He first used this to kill a Rain Rabbit, gaining experience and upgrading his bow. He later defended himself and Fu Xiyao against a six-person scavenger squad, killing two with precise shots and forcing the rest to flee. He also fought and killed a hairless wild dog. With each kill, his experience increases and his bow upgrades, extending its range and reducing aiming time. He is determined to survive and improve, often reassuring Fu Xiyao that better days are coming. His psionic ability continuously consumes energy, requiring him to eat mutated animals to fuel his upgrades.
