Little Bean is a village child with a wounded knee. When the sweet water is distributed, he smacks his lips and grins happily. He represents one of the hungry children saved by Ya Ya’s efforts. He appears again during the second food distribution, receiving a meat bun. He is thin and weak but his spirits are lifted by the food.
