Maclaine is a large, well-built adventurer whose underlings pick a fight with Eld at the guild. He challenges Eld to a duel but is easily defeated when Eld uses the magic sword Tempera. He is hot-headed but respects strength and acknowledges Eld's title as "Ice Flame".
