Merea is the protagonist of the story. Originally a nameless terminally ill patient from another world, he dies while observing a mysterious pale purple plant (Otherworld Grass) that blooms at his final moment. His soul is guided by the Grim Reaper (Flander Crow) to Mount Lindholm in another world, where he is reincarnated into a new body formed from heroic spirit fragments. He retains his memories and is named Merea by the spirits. Over fifteen years, he is raised and rigorously trained by a hundred heroic spirits, inheriting multiple factors such as Flander's Magic God's Demonic Eye (which can see through all spell formulas), Tyrant's Body (immense physical strength), King of Life's Rebirth, King of Death's Heart, and Antibody of the Disease God. His white hair comes from the heroic spirit Raylas, and his red eyes from Flander. Despite his heroic upbringing, vision from Future Stones predicts a future as a Demon Lord or Demon God. He fears this and hides the predictions. He is kind-hearted and holds loyalty to the spirits who raised him. He promises Flander that if he encounters Demon Lords who are not truly evil but trapped by the label, he will help them. His goal is to find his own path in a world quick to brand the powerful as Demon Lords.
