A man with an incurable fatal illness spends his final days in a hospital room, watching a pale purple plant he found in the garden grow rapidly. When it blooms, a Grim Reaper appears to guide his soul to another world. The plant, called Otherworld Grass, connects worlds with its roots. The man’s soul is pulled across realms, and he reincarnates into a new body—a four‑ or five‑year‑old boy with snow‑white hair and red eyes. He is named Merea.

Merea awakens on the summit of Lindholm Spirit Mountain, surrounded by translucent spirits who are the lingering souls of heroes from ages past. Their leader, Flander Crow, was the Grim Reaper who guided him. These heroic spirits explain that they sent the Otherworld Grass to summon someone who could resolve their regrets. Merea is truly alive, unlike them, and they intend to raise him into a hero capable of protecting others.

Life on the mountain is harsh. Monsters and dragons fly overhead. When the clouds lower, a Celestial Dragon named Curtista visits and speaks with Flander about Merea’s unusual appearance and the fact that many heroic spirits have already departed after their wishes were fulfilled. Merea learns that his body is formed from fragments of heroic spirits, giving him traits like Flander’s “Magic God’s Demonic Eye,” which can see through any spell formula. The spirits begin rigorous training: dodging fireballs, deciphering complex spell languages, and mastering reversal magic.

Merea hears about the Demon Lords—powerful beings that have appeared throughout history, their meaning shifting from “embodiment of wickedness” to merely “someone powerful.” The spirits are reluctant to discuss them in detail, but it becomes clear that many were betrayed or sacrificed in conflicts involving Demon Lords. The training is meant to ensure Merea can protect his comrades if such enemies arise.

Over three years, Merea hones his skills. He learns to read a spell’s construction the moment it is cast and weave a reversal spell instantly using reflection. In a final test, three female heroic spirits fire simultaneous spears of flame, lightning, and water. Merea deploys a barrier woven from reversed formulas and neutralizes all three attacks. The spirits acknowledge his progress, noting it took them five years to reach his level. Merea continues living among the ghosts, preparing for an unknown future where his power may be needed.

The concept of the story is undeniably intriguing and boasts a vast and immersive setting filled with a plethora of essential characters. However, it feels as though the author has created an expansive world—complete with a hundred distinct techniques and twenty-one demon lords—without adequately developing or exploring the backgrounds and motivations of these figures. This approach offers the author a considerable amount of creative freedom to introduce new concepts and ideas as the narrative progresses. The storyline is, without a doubt, captivating. I find myself particularly excited about the potential future where the protagonist evolves into a powerful lord among demon lords. However, the pacing tends to drag at times. While not every character has been thoroughly fleshed out, and some remain underdeveloped, the overall experience is still engaging. My curiosity is piqued, especially regarding the other demon lords, whose tales and complexities seem far more compelling than the current main character and his archenemy. It's important to note that this novel may not be the best choice for readers seeking a light and relaxing read, as the slow pacing can be a bit of a challenge. However, if you are in the mood for something with depth and seriousness, and you are willing to invest your time for prospective rewards, then this story might just be worth your while. Overall, I would rate it a 3.8 out of 5.0. While it has its flaws, the foundation laid by the author suggests that there is great potential for development in future chapters.

**Rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars)** This novel has an intriguing foundation, showcasing immense potential for greatness. However, it ultimately falls short of fully realizing that potential. The prologue and introduction caught my attention right away. The way the main character (MC) acquires survival skills that are seemingly overpowered adds an exciting element to the storyline. Additionally, the background story surrounding the MC’s upbringing in a parallel world, along with his interactions with legendary masters during his training, is both captivating and enjoyable to read. These elements initially set the stage for a thrilling narrative. However, as the story progresses, a significant issue emerges—the introduction of an overwhelming number of demon lords midway through the chapters. This influx of characters not only creates confusion for readers, but it may also muddle the author’s original vision for the plot. As the story evolves, it becomes apparent that the focus shifts away from the MC himself. Instead of providing a coherent narrative that centers on the MC's journey, the author employs multiple points of view in various chapters. This approach, while ambitious, ends up feeling chaotic and disorganized, leaving readers puzzled about whether the story is primarily about the MC or the survival battles among the demon lords. In summary, while the novel starts strong and presents a unique premise, the narrative's complexity and character overload detract from its overall impact. I hope to see a more streamlined focus on the main character in future chapters, as I believe this could elevate the story to the level of greatness its intriguing beginnings promise.

This story is an engaging journey that beautifully blends character development with an intricate plot. The protagonist, often referred to as the MC, embodies a refreshing mix of realism and ambition. While he showcases moments of naivety in the early chapters, it is evident that he possesses a keen insight into the world and its harsh realities. His incessant struggle to rescue others and his heartfelt desire to be a benevolent lord for his friends highlight his noble spirit. Moreover, he grapples with the heroic expectations set by his parents—who seem to embody a heroic legacy—hoping to carve out a path for himself as a true hero. As for the harem aspect of the story, the MC is portrayed as someone who is not oblivious to the emotions of those around him. Unlike many typical protagonists, he does notice when the female characters feel sadness, anxiety, or despair, as reflected in their eyes. However, his understanding of love and emotional connections is still developing, which creates a compelling tension within his relationships. His journey towards recognizing these deeper feelings adds a layer of complexity to the narrative. One of the notable elements of the story is the multitude of challenges faced by the MC. Just as he manages to address one situation, another obstacle seems to emerge, testing his resolve and ingenuity. This relentless cycle of conflict not only keeps the reader engaged but also serves as a catalyst for the MC's growth. It pushes him to adapt and evolve, making for a thrilling and unpredictable storyline. Overall, this narrative is rich with character depth and emotional arcs, ensuring that readers are not only entertained but also invested in the MC's journey toward becoming the hero he aspires to be. If you're a fan of stories that balance action, character interaction, and emotional growth, this one is certainly worth your time.

I find myself with mixed feelings about the story overall. On one hand, I appreciate that every action, thought, and development within the narrative is explained in detail. It truly immerses the reader in the characters' journeys and motivations. However, on the other hand, I can't help but notice that the explanations often feel tailored to an 11-year-old child’s understanding. This approach, while ensuring clarity, can sometimes detract from the depth and complexity of the storyline, leaving seasoned readers yearning for a more nuanced exploration of the themes and characters. It's as if the narrative is holding the reader's hand a bit too tightly, making it hard for those who are more familiar with the genre to fully engage with the storyline on a deeper level. In some ways, it feels like the author is leaning too heavily on exposition, which can certainly cater to a younger audience or those new to this type of literature. Yet, for those who are more experienced readers, it can feel frustrating to encounter such a simplified approach. Ultimately, while I appreciate the clarity that the story offers, I find myself wishing for a richer, more layered writing style that could elevate the narrative and engage a broader audience. The foundation is certainly there, but I can't help but feel it could benefit from a bit more sophistication and subtlety.

I must admit that this story did not resonate with me as I had hoped. One of my primary concerns was the way the events unfolded—I found that they lacked a sense of natural progression. It often felt as if the characters were thrust together without proper buildup or explanation, particularly regarding the antagonists. For instance, the meeting between the protagonists seemed forced, as if the author had merely decided to declare, “it’s fate,” without offering the nuance or depth that such moments deserve. Additionally, I was disappointed with the portrayal of the so-called ‘genius’ characters. Rather than feeling innovative or compelling, they seemed reminiscent of a watered-down version of the protagonist from "Dungeon Defense," especially when it came to the prince and the enemy dynamics. This left me yearning for a more creative and engaging exploration of their abilities and motivations. Another point that detracted from my enjoyment was the author's tendency to narrate events as if they were destined to enter world history. This narrative choice made it feel as if everything that unfolded was just a part of the past, stripping away the immediacy and immersiveness of the reading experience. Instead of being pulled into the unfolding drama, I found myself distanced from the characters and their journeys. Ultimately, despite my appreciation for the protagonists, the overall execution of the story did not captivate me enough to continue. I reluctantly decided to drop it, hoping that future reads will provide a more engaging narrative experience.

As of Chapter 4, I must say that this novel presents a refreshing take on the concept of reincarnation that I find quite captivating. The protagonist is uniquely aware of the circumstances surrounding his death, which adds an intriguing layer of depth to his character; rather than being consumed by regret or confusion, he seems content and at peace with it. The pacing of the narrative is quite commendable as well, allowing the story to unfold naturally without rushing through the plot. This careful attention to rhythm enhances the overall reading experience, drawing me in further with each chapter. And I can’t overlook the inclusion of a dragon—there's something magical and electrifying about the presence of such a mythical creature in the storyline. It adds an element of wonder and excitement that I find appealing. Overall, the story appears to hold great promise, and I am eager to see where the author will lead us next.
