Mo Laotien is the head of the Mo family. He originally promised his daughter Mo Chunxiang to Shen Yi to repay a debt of gratitude for Shen Ping's life-saving deed. Under pressure from his wife and daughter, he allows the engagement to be broken. He is weak and regretful, but ultimately fails to keep his promise.
