Rose is the strong, middle-aged proprietress of the village restaurant. She is stout, with fingers as thick as carrots, and has a no-nonsense attitude. She serves meals and also handles troublemakers with physical force, easily throwing a mercenary out of her shop. She is protective of her business and is described as intimidating but fair. She tells Pang Hong to fight or be beaten, and later covers his meal expenses on the village chief's orders.
