Chen Yan's friend and colleague at the mortuary. He is talkative, often complains, but is loyal. He accompanies Chen Yan during the night vigil and witnesses the ghostly wedding. He suffers from encountering possessed darkness and later impersonated by a paper figure. He drives to rescue Chen Yan, though his own mother is ill. He provides comic relief and occasional bravery.
