Four strong construction workers hired by Lin Qiming to assist in digging up the great-grandfather's grave. Under the yellow‑robed Daoist's direction, they break ground and use ropes to lift the heavy coffin. They witness several eerie events: the sudden sky darkening, a crow dying after hitting the tombstone, and the corpse's unnatural preservation after a hundred years. Despite their visible fear, they continue working as ordered. Their physical labour is essential to the exhumation process.
