He directs the grave relocation process, dismissing ominous signs such as sudden dark clouds, crows hitting the tombstone, and rhythmic knocking from the coffin. He claims the uncorrupted corpse is an auspicious sign and that moving it will bring greater blessings. Later, at the Lin mansion, he insists that outsiders must not approach the coffin before burial, barring Lu Jiuyang from inspecting the corpse. His actions reveal him as a fraud more interested in maintaining his authority than facing the real danger.
