He has known Crain since childhood and acts like a close uncle. He leads a dangerous investigation team into the treacherous cliffs and valleys to search for the silver deposit Crain suspects exists. When silver is discovered, he is ecstatic and bursts into the mansion early in the morning shouting the good news. He is energetic, loyal, and practical, playing a crucial role in the discovery that becomes Crain's source of funds.
