The Vietnamese pulse checker is one of the men who approaches the unconscious Zhang Qiling. He bends down, checks Zhang Qiling's pulse, then takes out a water skin and splashes water on his face to try to revive him. This action shows his role in assessing the condition of the stranger. He is later shot by Shi Ran.
