Xu Shu is Xu Zhiqiao's mother and the second wife of Ji Shou. She is gentle, loving, and often speaks to her daughter with a coaxing tone. She wants Xu Zhiqiao to integrate well into the new family and encourages her to be patient with Ji Huailuo. She travels frequently with Ji Shou for work and is unaware of the depth of her daughter's unhappiness. She represents a stabilizing but somewhat distant maternal figure in Xu Zhiqiao's life.
