Lin Che, a former soldier disabled in an explosion, transmigrates into the body of Lin Che, the seventh son of Duke Zhen Guo Lin Pojun in the Daqian Dynasty. The original Lin Che spent ten years as a hostage in the enemy state Yan Yun, suffering humiliation and abuse. After the Second Prince died by suicide in the fifth year, Lin Che endured alone until he was finally repatriated three months prior. Upon returning to the Zhen Guo Mansion, he was met with coldness and contempt. His father Lin Pojun considered him a coward for not dying alongside the prince, his mother Cheng Qiuci, former saintess of Jade Void Palace, showed little affection, and his elder brother Lin Yaoguang, the Crown Prince, subjected him to constant bullying and beatings. Lin Yaoguang regarded Lin Che as a threat to his inheritance and feared exposure of the shameful fact that he had begged Lin Che to take his place as a hostage ten years ago.Lin Che wakes up trapped in a deep well inside the mansion. He quickly absorbs the original owner's memories and realizes the dire situation. His body is weak and cold, his hands tied, and half his body submerged in water. A system called the Divine Machine Point Addition System binds to him, granting him five initial points. He uses them to upgrade the Blazing Sun Invincible Body technique, purging a deadly poison from his body that was secretly administered by Lin Yaoguang. With newfound strength, he climbs out of the well, only to be captured by hundreds of crossbowmen and dragged before the family hall.In the hall, Lin Pojun sits in judgment. Lin Yaoguang accuses Lin Che of attempting to rape their cousin Cheng Xuan. Cheng Xuan, under pressure, falsely testifies that Lin Che tried to defile her and that Lin Yaoguang saved her in time. Lin Che remains standing, refusing to kneel. He calmly points out the glaring contradictions in the accusation. He asks Cheng Xuan about her cultivation level, which is Third-Rank Enlightenment Realm, while he is not even a First-Rank Body Tempering cultivator. He questions how a weaker person could overpower a stronger martial artist, demanding if poison was used. He challenges his mother, a former saintess skilled in medicines, to name a poison that could disable a Third-Rank cultivator without knocking her unconscious yet still leave her able to cry for help. He further ridicules the coincidence of Lin Yaoguang appearing at the scene, noting the distance between their courtyards and suggesting it was a prearranged trap.Lin Che then escalates by threatening to report the matter to the Bright Mirror Department of the Legalist School, the empire's investigative body, and to appeal directly to the Empress. He reminds everyone that his ten-year hostage service is a meritorious contribution to Daqian and that he is soon to be summoned for reward. Fearing imperial scrutiny and the collapse of their lies, Cheng Xuan breaks down and admits she might have been mistaken. Lin Che immediately seizes the opportunity. He slaps Cheng Xuan hard, calling her a bitch, then turns to Lin Yaoguang and slaps him as well. He mocks Lin Yaoguang's cowardice, revealing to the entire hall that ten years ago Lin Yaoguang knelt and begged Lin Che to take his place as a hostage out of fear. Lin Che continues to slap Lin Yaoguang, daring him to retaliate, but Lin Yaoguang dares not strike, knowing that any further violence would bring the Empress's wrath upon the entire mansion. Lin Che exposes the framing scheme in front of all the elders, who are shocked by the hidden truth. Lin Pojun roars in anger, but Lin Che defiantly argues that upholding family law should punish the real criminals, not the innocent. The confrontation ends with Lin Yaoguang collapsing in fury and shame, unable to respond, while Lin Che stands victorious, having turned the tables and publicly shamed his persecutors. He has survived the immediate crisis and established himself as a force to be reckoned with, determined to escape the poisonous household and seek his own path to power using the system.

I truly wanted to enjoy this novel; it had strong foundational elements that hinted at potential. However, the writing ultimately fell flat for me, leaving a disappointing impression. Despite my eagerness to dive in, I found it quite challenging to engage with the narrative on any meaningful level. The characters, unfortunately, come across as rather simplistic and one-dimensional, which further detracted from my interest in the story. I chose to rate it 2 stars instead of a 1 because, while it did not capture my attention, it was still technically readable; it just lacked the excitement that I was hoping for. The novel’s primary failing lies in its pacing. With a title as dynamic as "After My Clan Drove Me Out, They Discovered I Was Unparalleled Under Heaven," I had high expectations for a protagonist who would shatter realms with each stride, demonstrating unstoppable progress and growth. Instead, what I encountered was a plot heavy on social intrigue and drama, which felt like a drag rather than the thrilling adventure I was anticipating. Good writing involves more than just crafting sentences; it's about setting clear expectations for the reader and delivering on those promises. When the narrative follows an unexpected route, it should do so in a way that intrigues and captivates. Unfortunately, this story seems to miss the mark entirely. It could have used a more vibrant and exhilarating pace to keep readers engaged and invested in the journey. Overall, while the novel has its merits, I could not help but feel let down by its execution and lackluster character development.

Overall, this is a solid start to a cultivation revenge story. The protagonist is clever and proactive, the villain is hateable, the stakes are personal and high, and the world has room to grow. The writing is efficient and engaging. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys stories like “Reverend Insanity” but with a lighter, more sarcastic tone.

One line that stuck with me: “A dragon doesn’t roar, a tiger doesn’t howl!” right before Lin Che climbs out of the well. It’s cheesy but in an endearing way. It perfectly captures his bravado in the face of adversity. The contrast with the immediate reality check of a hundred crossbowmen is comedic genius. Pride before the fall, literally.

The martial arts ranks (Body Tempering, Qi Refinement, Enlightenment, Object Control, True Essence) are standard but clearly explained. I like that they’re not just numbers—they have logical implications. A Third-Rank martial artist being immune to most poisons creates realistic boundaries. It makes the world feel internally consistent.

Reading this, I had a strong urge to see what happens next. The cliffhanger isn’t a literal one, but the open question of “how will he survive in this snake pit?” is compelling. I’d definitely continue reading. The combination of modern wit, ancient politics, and system-assisted growth is a recipe for an addictive story.

The author has a good sense of pacing for reveals. The memory of Lin Yaoguang begging as a child is dropped at the perfect moment—right when Lin Yaoguang is trying to play the magnanimous big brother. That contrast between past cowardice and present arrogance is devastating for Lin Yaoguang’s image. Great writing instinct.
