Ao Tian, a young man of twenty, spent fourteen years training in the Congo Basin under the harsh tutelage of his master, an Armored One. His childhood came to a violent end when a group of rampaging exotic beasts, creatures driven mad by the energy released from the Blue Star Core, destroyed the orphanage where he lived. A mysterious middle-aged man, his master, rescued him from the bloodshed and brought him to the deep jungle. There, alongside his master and uncle-master, also an Armored One, Ao Tian underwent grueling physical training that pushed his body beyond human limits. The Blue Star Core’s energy caused rapid evolution in animals, creating powerful exotic beasts that overwhelmed humanity. To fight back, scientists used an unknown metal from the Earth’s core combined with animal genes to forge armor that could channel the destructive core energy within human bodies. Those who piloted these armors became known as Armored Ones. Ao Tian’s own armor was constructed by his uncle-master using genes from a living Tyrannosaurus Rex, a specimen that was discovered and killed by his master in the Congo Basin. This set of Tyrannosaurus Rex armor was unique in the world.During the flight back to civilization, Ao Tian learned from his uncle-master about the nine-tier level system that measured an Armored One’s strength. Levels had nothing to do with the armor itself; they reflected how much of the core energy a human body could channel and withstand. The only way to improve one’s level was through real combat, forcing the body to adapt and unlock more power. Ao Tian himself was already a fifth-tier Armored One, capable of partially transforming into a beast-like state and surviving attacks that would kill ordinary soldiers. His master then delivered a stunning revelation: fourteen years ago, he rescued not only Ao Tian but also six other people from the orphanage – including the headmaster, Director Sun, and five other children. They had all been relocated to a protected zone and were alive. The master handed Ao Tian a note with their current address. Overwhelmed with emotion after years of believing he had lost everyone, Ao Tian focused on the prospect of finally going home. The airplane landed at the Weiyang City Military Region tarmac in the Dragon Country Protected Zone. After cleaning himself up, Ao Tian went directly to the orphanage. He found the headmaster arguing with a young man named Tang Kun, a troublemaker adopted by the orphanage who had come demanding money. When Tang Kun became aggressive, Ao Tian stepped in, grabbed him, and delivered a single punch that sent him sprawling. Tang Kun fled, threatening revenge.Ao Tian then revealed his identity to the headmaster. He showed the scar on his left foot, a deep cut from playing with scissors when he was four years old. The headmaster recognized him and they embraced, their reunion filled with tears and joy. The headmaster told Ao Tian that the other survivors – three older sisters and two older brothers – were doing well and had contributed to the orphanage’s survival.Later, Yang Xuanshuang, one of the older sisters from the orphanage, arrived. She immediately suspected Ao Tian was an impostor sent by someone named Cai Hao to harm the headmaster. Her cold demeanor melted only when Ao Tian whispered a private childhood secret: at age five, he had accompanied her to the toilet because she was scared of insects. Only she and Ao Tian knew that. Realizing the truth, she embraced him tightly, overjoyed that her long-lost younger brother had returned. Ao Tian decided not to tell her about his identity as an Armored One, believing that some knowledge could put her in danger. The story ended with Ao Tian preparing to have a meal with his sister and the headmaster, finally reunited with the family he thought he had lost forever.

This is a solid start. The emotional core is strong, the characters are archetypical but charming, and the setting has a ton of potential. If the author can fix the pacing and slow down a bit to let the world breathe, this could be a top-tier web novel adaptation. The dinosaur armor alone is worth the price of admission.

How did Ao Tian get any education if he spent 14 years in the woods fighting monsters? The story doesn't address this. He speaks normally, he can read addresses... Was the Master also a teacher? This is a classic logical leap in cultivation stories that you just have to accept for the plot to work.

Overall, the reading experience is extremely smooth and addictive. It is a classic 'brain off and enjoy' story. The tropes are executed with enough energy and sincerity to overcome the cliches. I finished the excerpt wanting to know what happens next to Ao Tian and his sister. It has high binge-read potential.

'Now I can finally go home.' That single line does more work than any monologue could. It carries the weight of 14 years of suppressed hope. The author understands the power of saying less. It is a punch right in the feels.

The dialogue is a mixed bag. The banter between Ao Tian and Lei Zhen is natural and fun. The Master's speeches are a bit heavy-handed. Tang Kun's dialogue is pure Saturday morning cartoon villainy. The best dialogue is definitely the sibling interaction. The bug story is proof they can write great character voice.

The introduction of 'Cai Hao' as a threat is a brilliant narrative setup. It immediately gives the local arc an antagonist. It explains why Yang Xuanshuang is so stressed and defensive. It gives Ao Tian a target for his newly revealed power. I expect him to be a local gang leader, or maybe another Armored One.
