Han Lu, a young woman burdened by a dysfunctional family, is abruptly transported to the Miniature World, a survival game where all Earth players are shrunk. She awakens to find herself only 5 centimeters tall, standing barefoot in underwear in a towering grassland, holding only an embroidery needle. A mechanical voice announces the game rules: death is real, supplies come from treasure chests which also hold monsters, a three-day novice protection period ensures safety unless provoked, and the three-day goal is to establish a safe house to survive weekly disasters. Each player has a game panel on a wrist mole, and the ultimate objective is to grow back to their original height.

Han Lu, naming herself Flower Dew Water, accepts her initial treasure chest containing two steamed buns, mineral water, and a tattered backpack with ten slots. Before she can explore extensively, a golden finger system binds to her, granting a random daily golden finger. On this first day, she draws Luck Overload, which enhances her ability to find treasure chests. She begins navigating through the grass, using her needle to clear a path, and soon discovers a one-star chest containing a protective suit that shields her from grass scratches and a faucet that can merge with water containers. She wears the suit and attaches the faucet to her water bottle for easier drinking.

Continuing her exploration, she finds another one-star chest with a self-heating hot pot and milk mantou, but her backpack slots fill quickly. Her luck leads her to a two-star chest from which a large rat emerges, but she remains still as per the rules, and it leaves. Inside, she finds a scooter, which increases her speed, and a machete for attack. She uses the scooter to move more efficiently through the uneven terrain, avoiding a wolf on an uphill slope by changing direction. Along the way, she collects more one-star chests containing mineral water, bread, an iron block, and underwear, but her backpack space becomes limited as each slot holds only one item type.

By noon, her satiety value drops, so she stops to eat bread and a steamed bun, restoring it to full. While resting, she scans the chat area and reads complaints from other players struggling with deserts, water, trees, and hunger. She resumes gliding on the scooter and almost hits an obstacle. It is a thick tree with an opening at the base. Investigating, she finds the tree hollow spacious and suitable as a safe house. She climbs inside to a large platform with an opening for sunlight. The game confirms it as a safe house, and she establishes it, becoming the first player in her zone to do so. This achievement triggers a system announcement and rewards: five mineral water bottles, a random attribute potion, a heightening potion, and an indoor storage locker.

She immediately uses the random attribute potion, which increases her health points by ten. With her safe house secured, she plans to trade excess supplies later, but currently focuses on utilizing her Luck Overload golden finger to gather more resources. The weather forecast predicts a significant temperature drop in seven days, emphasizing the need for preparation. Han Lu sets her scooter aside and stores her items in the indoor storage locker to free backpack space. She now has a base of operations and a plan to survive the upcoming disaster, aiming to grow stronger and eventually restore her original height.

I enjoyed this start. The mix of survival, system, and a competent protagonist works well. I want to see how she builds her safe house.

The luck system might become a deus ex machina if not handled carefully. But so far, it's balanced with dangers.

Being reduced to 5 cm is a compelling hook. The rule about growing back to original height gives a long-term goal.
