Wen Xin, a world-class assassin, transmigrates into a novel she once read. She becomes the cannon fodder character who must deliver a space jade bracelet to the female lead in a story about an apocalyptic natural disaster caused by nuclear wastewater dumping. The apocalypse is set to begin on January 1, 2100, with extreme weather events like typhoons, tsunamis, floods, and extreme cold. The original story sees Wen Xin gift the jade bracelet to Mu Xuan, her second brother's girlfriend, and later the Wen family is killed by their servants for supplies.Wen Xin decides to keep the space and stockpiles supplies to survive. She pricks her finger to claim the space from the bracelet, which binds to her. Using her savings and money from her parents and brothers, she accumulates over 320 million yuan. She purchases enormous stockpiles of meat, vegetables, grains, oils, seasonings, fruits, seafood, clothes, quilts, medicine, water, and fuel. She stores them in a rented warehouse before moving them into the space. She also buys hovercrafts, jet skis, satellite phones, generators, and solar panels to prepare for the coming disasters.Wen Xin's family includes her father Wen He, mother Liu Danru, eldest brother Wen Yufeng, and second brother Wen Junmu. Wen Junmu is in a relationship with Mu Xuan, whom Wen Xin recognizes as the female lead from the novel. Mu Xuan appears to be reborn and persistently seeks the jade bracelet from Wen Xin, wanting to obtain the space for herself. Wen Xin refuses every time and remains on guard. She also tries to influence her second brother to give Mu Xuan space and avoid acting too clingy. The day before the family is to leave for a vacation at a suburban farmhouse—a plan Wen Xin devised to move them away from the seaside villa that will be submerged by the rain—Wen Junmu presents Mu Xuan with a custom-made jade bracelet based on a drawing he obtained from her. Mu Xuan opens the box, hoping it might be the space bracelet.Meanwhile, Wen Xin has gathered all the servants and given them paid leave, making the villa empty. The family intends to leave the next day for the farmhouse, unaware that the apocalypse is imminent. Wen Xin’s ultimate goal is to keep her family alive, prevent the tragedy described in the novel, and survive the coming natural disasters with the supplies she has stored. The story sets the stage for the apocalypse to begin while the Wen family is away from their vulnerable seafront home.

30. I have a feeling Wen Junmu is going to be the cause of the family’s first major disaster. His blind spot for Mu Xuan is a massive security breach. It’s only a matter of time before he brings her to their "safe" location or lets a secret slip. The family’s survival hinges on him waking up from his delusion, and I'm not sure he will before it's too late.

2 The writing succeeds most at creating a sense of urgency. The constant countdown ("Ten days left," "Five days left") is a simple but effective device that keeps the pages turning. Even while I’m bored by the shopping lists, the ticking clock makes me feel like I need to keep reading to see if she makes it in time. Good pacing tool.

2 The revelation that Mu Xuan is likely a "Reborn" character adds a nice layer of complexity to the original "bad female lead" trope. She’s not just a two-dimensional villain. She’s desperate, and she knows what’s coming. That makes her a much more dangerous opponent than the naive social climber she appears to be. The psychological battle is real.

2 I’m worried the story will become too easy for Wen Xin. She has infinite money, a giant space, and a sharp brain. Where is the real challenge? The natural disasters are a global threat, but with her preparation, she’ll be in a luxury bunker. The conflict needs to come from something she can’t plan for, like human betrayal or a resource she forgot. The housekeeper plot is a good start.

2 The pacing gets a bit repetitive. It’s just "Wen Xin went to a store. She bought 500 of X, 700 of Y. The boss was surprised. She swiped her card." This formula repeats for vegetables, cold storage, grains, clothing… I get it. She’s preparing. It’s starting to feel like padding to boost the word count. I need a new plot thread, please.

2 The emotional resonance is a bit low for me. Wen Xin is too cold and efficient. She feels more like a program executing an evacuation plan than a real person who just lost her life and gained a new family. I want to feel her warmth toward her new parents, but it’s described as "a warm current flowed through her heart" and then it’s back to shopping.
