Yu Tang, a high-level healing-type female from Starfield, transmigrates into the body of an ugly, obese, and lazy woman in the Apocalypse. In Starfield, her beauty and rare ability kept her imprisoned by powerful figures. Now, in the Apocalypse, females are scarce and assigned to males by the Divine Mechanism Algorithm upon adulthood to help them survive dangerous heat and rage periods. The original host had just come of age and was assigned four Beast Husbands: Mo Yao, a Six-Star Black Snake; Yin Xuan, a Seven-Star Silver Wolf; Su Bai, a five-star Golden Lion; and Xiao Mu, a six-star Red Eagle. They all despise her.Yu Tang awakens in an underground chamber, pinned beneath Mo Yao during his heat period. He is disgusted by her aggressive approach, believing she broke in to mate with him. In reality, Yu Tang is confused and terrified. When Mo Yao tries to kill her, she knocks him unconscious with a hard object and escapes. She then meets Yin Xuan on the street, who coldly escorts her home. There, Mo Yao’s threatening gaze promises death.Yu Tang discovers the original host’s bedroom is piled with rotting garbage and her appearance is monstrous: overweight, acne-covered, foul-smelling, with lice-infested hair. She cleans herself thoroughly and decides to improve her situation. She considers holding onto Su Bai, the friendliest of the four, as a lifeline. Su Bai cooks for her but the stir-fried noodles are unbearably salty. Yu Tang throws them away, suspecting intentional sabotage but dismissing the thought. That night, she encounters Xiao Mu returning from patrol. His disgust is evident; he throws away the armor she touched. Yu Tang feels insulted but remains determined to survive. She has a healing ability that coexists with her soul, a small green sphere of light. The next day, Su Bai offers to teach her cooking if she goes grocery shopping. At the supermarket, she meets Zhong Li Yan, a woman obsessed with Yin Xuan and hostile to Yu Tang. While they argue, a zombie disguised as a human is exposed when Zhong Li Yan slaps its face off. Panic erupts. The zombie traps Yu Tang and Zhong Li Yan inside the supermarket by dropping the iron gate. Yu Tang’s ankle is crushed by a falling shelf. Zhong Li Yan tries to escape, sacrificing Yu Tang, but the zombie catches her. The zombie can speak. Yu Tang stalls for time, hoping for rescue. She spots Mo Yao and Yin Xuan arriving. The zombie prepares to self-destruct. Mo Yao creates a purple sphere containing the explosion, but the sight of the zombie’s black blood and flesh makes Yu Tang vomit. In desperation, she promises to divorce Mo Yao if he saves her. He agrees and threatens her if she reneges. Afterward, Yu Tang uses her healing ability to instantly heal her swollen ankle, surprising Yin Xuan. Mo Yao seems to see a chance for divorce, but the story leaves the situation uncertain.

I'm genuinely enjoying this novel much more than I initially anticipated! At first, I wasn't particularly fond of the blurb or the opening chapters, but after just a few pages, I found myself completely hooked. Here are a few aspects I absolutely love about this story: - **Quick Revelations:** One of the refreshing elements is how swiftly the characters come to terms with the fact that she isn’t their original wife. Unlike many stories that drag out such revelations, the protagonist admits her identity rather early on, which adds an element of honesty and transparency to the narrative. - **Complex Characterization of the MC:** While our main character may be physically weak, her mental fortitude shines through. At the beginning, she does shed quite a few tears, but it quickly becomes evident that she doesn’t rely on her husbands for emotional support as heavily as one might expect. They serve more as a kind of supportive backdrop, enhancing her abilities rather than overshadowing her independence. - **Appreciation for Female Friendship:** The depiction of female camaraderie in this story is another highlight. It’s refreshing to see strong, supportive relationships among women that add depth to the narrative and showcase different dynamics in friendships. - **Adorable Character Interactions:** The characters are utterly charming! Some of her husbands develop feelings for her quite early in the story, leading to some adorably jealous and childish antics that surely bring a smile to readers’ faces. - **Intriguing Subplots:** There’s a larger conspiracy woven into the backdrop of the main narrative centered around a zombie apocalypse, which I find incredibly exciting. I'm eager to see how this bigger plot unfolds and ties into the characters' personal journeys. - **Body Positivity Theme:** While the story follows a typical "fat to fit" arc, the underlying message is that the protagonist's weight was never the sole barrier to her attractiveness. As of Chapter 103, she still retains her chubby figure, which is praised rather than vilified. It’s wonderfully explained that her healing abilities are purging her body of toxins, leading to healthier skin and fantastic beauty—no wonder some characters are filled with envy! As for the male leads so far, they each bring a unique dynamic to the story, adding layers to the relationships and enhancing the overall storyline. I can’t wait to see how their interactions evolve as the plot progresses. Overall, this novel has exceeded my expectations, and I am entirely invested in the characters and the unfolding plot!

Final thoughts: I’m invested. I want to see Yu Tang grow, heal (literally and emotionally), and maybe teach these beastmen some manners. The potential for drama, romance, and action is all there. As long as the writing stays consistent and the plot doesn’t drag, I’ll keep reading. Especially if the husbands start falling for her one by one.

The translation has some clunky parts, like “the man’s icy purple eyes swept over her neck” which is a bit purple prose. But overall, it’s readable and the story moves fast. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes transmigration, reverse harem, and apocalypse settings with a side of comedy. It’s not perfect but it’s fun.

I’m genuinely worried about the next zombie encounter. The one in the supermarket was high-star and intelligent. What if there’s a whole nest? And Yu Tang’s only power is healing—she can’t fight. She’s gonna need protection. Will the husbands step up? Or will she have to rely on herself? I’m rooting for the latter.

The axe-wielding original host sounds like a whole other character. I kind of want to know what she was like before Yu Tang took over. Was she desperate? Crazy? In love with Mo Yao? The way she broke into the chamber suggests she was obsessed. But current Yu Tang is clearly not that person. That might confuse the husbands.

I laughed when she said “a little ugly a little freedom.” That’s going to be her mantra. It’s such a cope, but also kind of empowering. She’s embracing her flaws and using them as a shield. That’s a strong character choice. I can see her becoming more confident as she discovers her own value beyond looks.
