The neighborhood aunties gossiping about the arrest is a perfect social mirror. “I always thought this kid wasn’t a decent person.” Rumors change reality instantly. They didn’t need any evidence, just the group chat consensus. Every community has these aunties and they are always right about the drama being wrong.
That recording pen Chief Zeng uses? Classic villain move. But what’s he gonna do with it? If Xi Yang later rejects the agreement, the police chief can claim the kid extorted him. It’s a trap, and I’m annoyed Xi Yang didn’t even try to get the recording deleted. Naive for an old cultivator.
The reveal that Charlotte has an Appraisal skill but keeps it secret because it’s not common knowledge was a smart twist. It adds a layer of mystery to her character. She has this huge advantage but can’t use it openly, which creates interesting tension.
The dialogue feels a bit exposition-heavy at times. Like when Yu Sui explains to himself how the company works or how the three members are twisted. It’s a classic infodump. I prefer if this was shown through their actions or more natural conversation. The part about them “betting on how many months a new member lasts” was good—that should have been a scene rather than told to us.
I honestly didn't expect the story to start like that—waking up in bed with two gorgeous women and thinking it's just a dream? That's such a relatable reaction. The way Zhou An rationalizes it as "guess I'll be late for work" had me laughing. It's so human and mundane compared to the crazy situation he's actually in. The shift from that casual morning thought to realizing he's a puppet emperor is really well done, caught me off guard.
The translation quality (if it is a translation) feels very natural. The phrasing like “reincarnation as a Villainous Young Lady is a trope now” and “I will just smash every Ruin Flag with my own methods!” show an awareness of genre conventions that makes it relatable to isekai fans. It doesn’t take itself seriously, but it’s still well-constructed prose.
The adult goblins are idiots in the best way. They’re so arrogant and brutish, completely underestimating this cub. The way one of them tries to grab Ye Yan and gets sand thrown in its face, then gets a stone to the eye—classic underdog moment. But it also shows how knowing the weakness of a species is a huge advantage. Ye Yan’s assassin training is paying off hard. Their rage and confusion are hilarious to watch.
