In a world where only men exist and they are divided into Alpha, Beta, and Omega, Yu Sui, a dying man in his original world, is bound by a system that offers him resurrection energy in exchange for completing missions. He arrives in this reality as a Beta, a gender inherently mediocre and emotionally stable, but his character is an outlier: exceptionally beautiful, prone to intense emotions, and deeply resentful of Alphas. To vent his hatred, he pretends to be a high-mental-power Alpha online and applies to Star Sea Entertainment, a company notorious for forcing Alphas into idol contracts through coercion and debt traps, effectively stripping them of their natural pride and freedom.

Yu Sui's mission is to help three twisted Alpha members of the boy group TYE—Jiang Nianxing, He Baiyan, and Lu Jinxia. These three have been systematically broken by the company's oppressive environment, growing indifferent and perverse. The plot dictates that they will eventually be drawn to the light by a new, genuinely kind Alpha member named Shen Anliu, the protagonist shou. Yu Sui's role is to act as a villainous Beta who hates Alphas, first pretending to be friendly to Shen Anliu to uncover his secrets, then framing him out of jealousy for his perceived perfection. However, the story deviates early on when his muttered complaints are overheard by Jiang Nianxing, bringing their conflict into the open.

Yu Sui, maintaining his arrogant persona, openly declares his mental power as 4S+, challenging the 3S Alpha. Jiang Nianxing becomes suspicious, especially after noticing Yu Sui lacks a discernible pheromone scent. Meanwhile, Shen Anliu, the gentle and polite new member, shows immediate admiration for Yu Sui, making Jiang Nianxing uneasy. The three original members are called to observe the newcomers, with Lu Jinxia secretly suffering from Alpha phobia—a psychological revulsion to any physical contact with other Alphas. When he accidentally touches Yu Sui, he experiences no reaction, leaving him deeply unsettled and questioning his condition.

Yu Sui, driven by his mission, uses a burner account to post vitriolic comments against Alphas online, but netizens twist his words, accusing him of being a closeted homosexual with unresolved attraction to them. This frustrates him, but he continues his scheme. In the dormitory he shares with Shen Anliu, he seizes the opportunity to snoop through the other's belongings while Shen Anliu showers. Discovering only musical textbooks and a clean online presence, he finds no dirt. His clumsiness causes a commotion, alerting Shen Anliu, who, noticing Yu Sui's injured foot, gently tends to him. Their close proximity leads to Yu Sui accidentally falling onto Shen Anliu, a scene witnessed by Jiang Nianxing, who misinterprets it as intimacy between two Alphas. This deepens his confusion and suspicion.

The incident escalates when Jiang Nianxing, sent to summon them for training, finds them on the floor. He pulls Yu Sui away, only to be shocked by the youth's slender waist and teary eyes, which starkly contrasts with the typical stoic Alpha demeanor. Shen Anliu repeatedly apologizes, further bewildering Jiang Nianxing, who believes the protagonist shou is scheming by pretending to be good-natured. Yu Sui, following the system's guidance, begins to treat the members impatiently on the surface, verbally attacking them while planning covert revenge. He suspects that Jiang Nianxing's sudden jealousy is due to the Alpha's romantic feelings for the protagonist shou, and he feels validated in his disgust for the species.

As the training session approaches, Yu Sui's foot injury excuses him. Shen Anliu, overly concerned, nags him, which Yu Sui curtly dismisses. Jiang Nianxing senses the tension and forcibly drags Shen Anliu away, further confirming Yu Sui's belief that the two Alphas are drawn to each other. Left alone, Yu Sui posts another online complaint, only to be bombarded with comments again, this time mocking his seemingly obsessive focus on Alphas. The system suggests that the intense physical contact between the protagonist gong and shou is a sign of their inevitable love story, given the world's alienating Alpha nature. Yu Sui finds the logic twisted but focuses on his task, which is to complete the mission by acting as the catalyst for their transformation. His ultimate goal is to successfully navigate the explosive plotlines, survive the schemes of the company and the Alphas, and earn his resurrection energy to return to life. The story begins with his arrival and the initial, volatile interactions with the TYE members, setting the stage for a conflict-driven narrative of manipulation, fragile alliances, and hidden identities.

I’m ready for a slow burn. Don’t make them kiss in Chapter Let the tension build. Let me worry about the identity reveal. The book’s foundation is solid. Now it needs to walk the tightrope between drama and fluff. If it maintains this balance, it will be a top-tier read in its genre. I am bookmarking this page now.

The biggest mystery for me is: what does Shen Anliu want? He is too nice. The story even says “his phone keeps ringing” and mentions “troublesome family matters.” He has a dark side he is hiding. That mysterious call after he hugged Yu Sui was perfectly timed. He is hiding something big, maybe even bigger than the company.

I can already see the fan edits. Panels of Yu Sui’s sharp jawline and tearful eyes are going to be popular. The author definitely knows how to write a visually appealing scene. The contrast between his cold persona and his crying face is peak character design. He is the “ugly cry” version of a perfect idol.

The bathroom scene and the elevator scene are the best written because they have high emotional stakes and clear blocking (movement). The later dorm scenes had good dialogue but unclear spatial setup (where was the chair?). It’s a small writing flaw, but it stood out to me. Keep the action clear.

The story’s take on “what makes a man” is interesting through the lens of Alphas/Betas. Yu Sui is a Beta, which is considered Average/weak. But he is our main POV. The story is saying that the regular guy (Beta) can still be the main character and overcome the big strong Alphas using his wit. It’s an empowering message under the smut.

I have a theory that Yu Sui’s hatred of Alphas will be broken when he sees them as victims, not oppressors. The story has set up that they are all trapped in the company. Once he helps them, he might actually develop genuine care for them. And that will break his “straight” facade. That’s the character development I am hoping for.
