The magic system seems standard isekai fare – levels, job classes, talent skills, chanted spells. But the twist that "Proficiency Mastery" is considered ordinary and everyone has talents makes it feel less like a Gary Stu cheat. Then Lu Cang's talent evolves into a god-tier version, which is a classic OP protagonist setup. I'm a bit tired of this "hidden OP power" trope, but at least the story doesn't pretend it's rare – even Kumilony casually lists it as an example of a common talent. That's honest. I'm curious how the leveling and talent system will develop, especially since he can get one talent per level. If he reaches high levels, he'll be insane.
2 The description of the "Abyss Beasts" is still a bit vague. I know they're between reality and illusion and they come from nests, but I don't have a strong mental image of what one *looks* like. I'm hoping for a more visceral description of these monsters soon. The concept is cool, but I need the visual to really get scared of them.
The way Cheng Ming just hires Wen Yilin on the spot feels very desperate. “It’s a startup anyway. I don’t have anyone more suitable right now.” Brutal honesty. He is treating people like assets to complete the system mission and I am curious if this will backfire on him later.
The medical details about syphilis and the mutations seem well-researched or at least convincingly written. The stages, the symptoms, the transmission methods. It adds a layer of realism to the horror. Dr. Pu's professional breakdown of the infection process made me feel like I was learning something while being terrified. Although I have no idea if the science is accurate, it sounded plausible enough to scare me.
