Su Ye’s immediate plan to prioritize upgrading the barracks over territory shows strategic thinking. He correctly identifies that his super strong troops are his main asset, so he wants to recruit more and increase their level cap. The Lord’s Heart upgrades grant new traits, which with Echo of Strong Luck will always be high quality. This is a classic min-max approach that any 4X gamer would appreciate.
I like that the Hidden Mountain Guild's rejection wasn't just based on a whim but on documented historical precedent. The seventeen undead lords with celestial phenomena who all failed creates a legitimate reason for their skepticism. It makes the world feel more real where past data actually matters in decision-making. The guild checking thirty years of records shows they're thorough, not just prejudiced. This makes Shen Chi's eventual success even more impressive because he's defying established patterns.
2 Jiang Chen's personality is taking shape. He's ruthless, pragmatic, and not interested in playing games. When the other Jinyiwei doubt him, he just shows them his True Qi. Actions speak louder than words.
Guo Yujiao gives me major mixed feelings. On one hand, yep, she’s a classic gold-digging snake, luring the MC for his kidney because of a rare blood type. But the way she gets all teary while talking to Yang Liancheng about nearly being violated feels just too manipulative. The writer clearly wants us to hate her, and I do. She’s not even conflicted about it later, she just watches him get thrown off the cliff like it’s trash day. Cold.
Fang Ping seems like a typical best friend character so far, but I appreciate that he’s not just comic relief. Him breaking down the door shows real concern. I hope he doesn’t become just a victim later. The novel needs grounded characters to contrast the horror.
I'm seriously conflicted about how fast everything moves after reincarnation. One minute Merea is dying in a hospital, the next he's got a four-year-old's body and is being trained by a bunch of dead heroes. There's no gentle introduction, no easing into this new world. It's just: "You're alive again, here's your new name, now dodge fireballs or die." The whiplash is intense, but honestly, I kind of respect it. No padding, no lengthy explanations about the magic system before we're thrown into it. We learn by watching Merea struggle, which makes it feel more immersive. Still, I wish we got a breather moment. Just one.
The Purple Lightning technique was visually awesome. A single bolt from the sky, no effort required. It screams "I am the main character." The way the monster recognized the Zhang family's style instantly builds up the MC's legacy even though he has been MIA for three years.
