I’m rooting for Yu Yuan so far. He’s not a hero, he’s just a guy trying not to die. The fact that he immediately started planning and executing shows good survival instincts. The Slaughter Card hanging over his head makes me anxious for the next chapter. I hope he finds a way out of it without becoming a monster.
Yu Zihan's internal conflict about whether to brave the black mist or stay in her dorm is relatable. The choice between certain danger and possible safety is a classic survival dilemma. Her hesitation feels authentic, especially when she sees the video of Li Chao's death. That's a reality check.
I love that Jiang Qingyue isn't immediately good at everything. She's competent in the kitchen but still struggles with the body she's been given. She's smart but also makes mistakes. The way she has to adapt to the original owner's habits and reputation shows she's not just magically fixing everything overnight. The detail about her not being able to reach her own back while washing is small but humanizing. She's still herself, just in a different package.
For a translated story, the prose is very smooth. There isn't that clunky, robotic sentence structure you sometimes get. The flow from Lu Che's thoughts to the action is very quick. It makes for a very fast, easy read.
Seeing a conflict solved by building a product rather than fighting an enemy is incredibly satisfying. It's a story that values creation over destruction, which is a very welcome change of pace in the genre. The tools are game design, psychology, and art
The dialogue between characters feels natural and not too exposition-heavy. They talk about their levels, the dungeon clear, the loot, casually dropping worldbuilding. Like when Iz mentions random teleportation and how dangerous the world is, it's woven into normal conversation. Kumilony's explanation about job change and talents also felt organic. The only unnatural part was when Iz said "I will be his magic mentor" out of nowhere – a bit too convenient. But overall, the characters speak like real adventurers, not information bots.
