I'm honestly excited to see what kind of undead units come from the Ancient Battlefield portal. The Masterless Lone Grave only allowed skeleton soldiers, but this evolved version bridging to the Nether Plane could mean access to higher-tier units directly. Maybe fallen warriors from the battlefield depicted in his awakening celestial phenomenon? The idea of recruiting ghostly soldiers from an ancient war is incredibly cool and fits the Nether King theme perfectly.
So, she's going to find Li Wanzhi. The future head of a spy network. This tells me her new path is going to be about intelligence and information. She's going to build her own power base, one that runs in the shadows and counteracts the Ye Clan's public power. It’s a very smart move for someone who was crushed by a lack of political backing. She’s not going to try to compete on her former terms. She’s going to change the playing field. The setup for a future where she controls the secrets of the world while her old enemies are left in the dark is extremely exciting. This shows she’s learned the real lesson of her death: power is about knowledge and allies, not just cultivation talent.
The pacing is incredible so far. We go from arrest to company setup in like three chapters. Every single scene serves either the plot progression or Cheng Ming’s emotional hardening. No filler. I really hope it maintains this energy through the corporate battle arc.
The detail of Su Chunlin and his wife sneaking out at night with wooden buckets to get the last mud from the river was fantastic. It perfectly shows the desperation of the village. A family working together in the dark for a few buckets of muddy water.
The way Ziyou uses her knowledge of the future is cautious but present. In her thoughts, she mentions the “so-called rebellious letters” that were placed in her father’s study by her second uncle. That’s a concrete plot point she can work to prevent. She also thinks about the need to have the second branch split off. The challenge is the grandmother’s partiality. This creates a conflict: how do you maneuver a separation without seeming unfilial? I’m excited to see the schemes she’ll come up with.
The pacing in these first few chapters is really tight for a transmigration novel. Usually you get a whole chapter of "I can't believe I'm in a book" monologue, but here she's up and running to the Zhu house within the first few paragraphs. No wasted time. The plot moves on action rather than internal whining. By chapter three she's already settled accounts, made a potential ally with Xiang Zhihang, and publicly dumped the male lead. That's efficiency. Makes me want to keep reading.
The supporting characters are already so distinct. Lu Jinxia’s secret phobia of touching Alphas is a fantastic twist. It instantly makes him more than just the pretty memeber. And the fact that he doesn’t react to Yu Sui that way? That’s a huge red flag for me. Either Yu Sui’s pheromones are completely off the charts in a way that overrides the phobia, or there’s something else going on. The writer is definitely planting seeds.
