The teacher's demand for 1 million per slap and her subsequent fear when it becomes real is a classic "fuck around and find out" moment. The satisfaction of seeing her greed turn to terror is immense. The downside is that it's too easy for the protagonist – there's no real challenge. But that's exactly the point of the genre: the protagonist always wins effortlessly.
The double transmigration backstory could have been confusing, but the author managed to explain it within the flow of his thoughts. I liked how he referenced reading web novels while slacking off, which made him relatable to any nerdy reader. The comment about the mud truck was ridiculous but set up the dark humor that runs through the story. The "system BUG" angle created suspense, and I was genuinely worried he'd be erased before the story even started.
The reaction at the Blade Catcher Hall was hilarious. The guards shouting "something terrible has happened" because someone actually wants to join? And the leader practically panicking to get him inside before he changes his mind? It perfectly shows how desperate their situation is. The irony is great—he’s begging to join, and they are terrified he'll run away.
The disaster in 7 days with temperature drop is a looming threat. It gives a clear short-term goal.
Brigitte’s name for the protein drink — “secret drink for nutritional supplementation, muscle enhancement, and fostering an indomitable spirit” — needs no explanation. It’s a parody of sports supplements. The fact that it’s described as smelling closer to monster body fluid than herbs adds to the charm. I want to know what’s in it, but also I don’t.
The dialogue when Huihui asks if Brother Huan'er is coming back, and Xiao Qing says “He probably... won’t be back” – that pause and evasion is so sad. She knows her son doesn’t want to be with her. Huihui’s insistence that the boy who came with the father isn’t Brother Huan'er adds a mystery layer.
