The Shelter System's evaluation criteria are interesting. "Virtue" meaning talent and understanding the bigger picture, "Kindness" meaning morals and sticking to original intentions—these are high bars. Most people would fail. It shows Lu Zheng isn't settling for just anyone. He wants quality survivors.
The entrance of the Qiao family with weapons is such a satisfying power shift. Old Man Qiao’s voice full of authority and the men with red cloth on their heads – it’s like a warrior clan arriving. The Song family’s fear is palpable. The line where the Qiao family has hunters and is not afraid to fight is a good piece of worldbuilding for the setting. It gives the mother some backup, even if it’s after she’s been harmed. It also sets up a confrontation that I want to see resolved: will they get the divorce deed by force.
The reading experience so far is intense. I started reading and couldn't stop until the family division was done. The thriller-horror elements keep me turning pages. But I'm worried the space cheat might make the survival too easy later. If she can grow corn in a day, then food becomes plentiful quickly, and the tension might disappear. I'd prefer if the space has limitations like slow growth or she needs to accumulate resources to unlock more land. The one square meter and small puddle seem balanced for now. The fact that using the space makes her dizzy creates a cost. I hope the author doesn't escalate to infinite resources too fast. The famine and family betrayal are engaging enough without a super cheat.
