Wait so the cat actually has an owner? I thought he was a stray this whole time, that twist with the guidance director showing up and being like "nah he's the school's cat" was unexpected and honestly pretty clever, it subverts the whole "rescue the stray" trope that was being set up.
I love how Chi An's mood shifts throughout the dinner scene. He starts off feeling defeated and like a guest. Then when Fu Wenxiu puts him in his place he starts eating his carrots with a little more satisfaction. The carrot even tasted better after that. Such a small detail but it perfectly captures how much his gege's support means to him.
I like that the game is actually punishing. The death penalty of losing 50% experience and half your currency is brutal. It immediately kills any thought of just zerg-rushing the monsters. It forces the players to actually think and cooperate. The author is making it clear this isn't a casual game. It makes the survival feel earned. When they finally clear that first wave of locusts, you feel relieved with them.
I really appreciate how the author showed the MC’s physical state without overdoing the gore—but still made it clear she was brutalized. The broken bones, the blood seeping through clothes, the way she couldn’t even stand properly… It made me feel so angry for her. And then she still stood up and talked back? Queen behavior.
