I absolutely adore the dynamic between the quirky main character and his charming love interest! The playful interactions between them add a delightful layer of humor to the narrative, making it a truly enjoyable read. The chemistry they share is both endearing and entertaining, bringing a sense of warmth to the story. So far, the plot has been intriguing and filled with cute moments that keep me eagerly turning the pages. I can't wait to see how their relationship unfolds as the story progresses! Overall, this narrative promises a delightful blend of sweetness and fun.
The backstory of 2222 with five billion starved to death is haunting. It justifies why the National Fortune Game causes such excitement. Resources are limited—water, food, minerals. Every item Ye Feng gets can help his country. The stakes are beyond winning; it’s about saving lives. I wish more novels use such pressing real-world problems to drive plot. It makes me think about our own resource issues. The hunger theme is way more relatable because everyone eats.
And that feeling of helplessness he remembers, being erased from a fundamental particle level... damn. That's a more terrifying way to die than any explosion or monster attack. The author did a great job making that despair feel tangible. It stuck with me more than the action bits. It's a core memory for him, and it explains his entire mindset going forward. I get why he's not just jumping for joy.
The pacing is a bit breakneck in the first few chapters. From almost dying to getting a marriage contract to traveling, it's a lot. But I didn't mind because the story kept me engaged. I just wish there were more quiet moments to let the characters breathe.
I like that Xiao Jiu doesn’t instantly become a perfect housewife. She’s still weak, still recovering, and she relies on others at first. Her suggestion about grain shows intelligence, but she doesn’t suddenly know everything about farming. That gradual building of competence feels realistic. She’ll learn as she goes.
