Yingxiu introduces herself as from Earth but a parallel world called Dacheng Kingdom. That was a big reveal. It connects her to them and adds a layer of mystery. I wish the author had foreshadowed this earlier, like dropping hints that she's not from this world. The concept of Dacheng Kingdom sounds Chinese historical fantasy. I'm curious about its culture and how it differs from Chen Dian and Yan Yu's world.
The MC’s dynamic with his sister-in-law is handled with some tension. He’s polite, keeps a respectful distance, but she clearly cares for him deeply. Will it stay platonic? Given the “beautiful widow” trope, I suspect romance may develop, but I hope it’s handled carefully.
The political subtext with the Galis Empire building up military after Demon Lord's defeat feels tacked on. It's an interesting idea, but the story spends no time developing it. Cecilia's warning to Youki feels like a set-up for future conflict, but as of now, it's barely a footnote. I hope the author expands on it in later parts.
The mask slips completely once they are alone. He doesn't see her as a wife, he sees her as a prize. "You’re wearing a bride’s dress, aren’t you a bride?" Disgusting. He is a predator, and the story doesn't shy away from showing it.
