I really want to know more about the father's backstory. The author teased an epic: slave family, Qingcheng Mountain, divine body, fighting immortal realm princes, annihilating the God Race, establishing Heavenly Court. That sounds like it could be a whole novel on its own. I'm curious if we'll get flashbacks or if the father will be rescued later. For now, it's a tantalizing mystery that adds depth to Luo Yingxue's character.
I'm calling it now: Ye Tian is going to be a massive problem. The way he's introduced in the background, freaking out because the Mystic Sky Mirror might expose him, and then immediately plotting to "suppress Yu Mu's glory" - this dude has main antagonist energy written all over him. The fact that he also has a "Teacher" helping him and is described as the Child of Destiny makes me think the author is setting up a classic destiny-vs-rebellion conflict, which could be really compelling if done right.
I was personally engaged throughout the excerpt, the cliffhanger at the end with Bai Yi seeing outside needs resolution. The training and wishing well sequences were entertaining, and the emotional beats kept me invested. I would definitely continue reading, the story appeals to both my emotional and intellectual sides. The pacing and structure make it hard to put down.
The commentary on the entertainment industry’s networking culture is spot on. Feng Zifan’s friendliness is clearly calculated. It’s a nice, cynical layer to the world-building that makes it feel more authentic. Xing Shi’s disinterest in playing those games is refreshing. He’s just here for the noodles and to dismantle his new parasite.
