The description of Ye Feng’s parents’ photo hanging on the wall adds some emotional weight. It’s a reminder of why he fights so desperately. The beast tide that killed them is what drives him, and that backstory makes his rage feel earned.
I loved the tiny detail of Shen Qing circling the incense burner twice before leaving the Buddhist hall to look like she had been praying. And hiding travelogues under the desk instead of reading scriptures? Perfect. Shows she's still rebellious inside even while playing the obedient daughter.
The plot with the servants blocking her from seeing the Duke is a realistic obstacle. Shows how much control Third Madam has. I want to see how she overcomes that, maybe by using her own network
Tu Kun is a terrifying character. He's clearly not a clueless newbie like Xing Nana. He acts with purpose and violence, immediately searching the house and finding the axe. He knew exactly what to do. The way he just says "tch" and punches Zhang Yu shows he has no patience for the game's script. His presence makes me wonder how many layers of reality are in this game world.
I’m really curious about the original Yu Sui’s motivations. The system says the host hates Alphas so much because he’s insecure about being a Beta. But the current Yu Sui is literally a Beta, so is he just acting based on the character’s traits? The contrast between his internal monologue (being a straight guy) and his external actions (pretending to be a misandrist Alpha hater) is a layer I didn’t expect. It adds a meta-commentary on identity.
